God turns away from unclean things

For the Lord your God

walks in the midst of your camp,

to deliver you and give your enemies over to you;

therefore your camp shall be holy,

that He may see no unclean thing among you,

and turn away from you.

~ Deuteronomy 23:14

This past month this scripture has been captivating me .... because it's such a Powerful Truth ❤.

The Lord walks amidst us. He is with us and wholly supports us! Praise God :)

But when He sees unclean things He turns away...

For He is Holy.

He simply cannot remain close to anything that is unclean.

The analogy that comes to mind is that of oil and water.
They just don't mix, instead oil and water naturally resist and draw away from one another.

I can just hear the protests of some who may contest this. While it is true that the Lord is immensely graceful, forgiving and Loving. He is also a wise Father who desires that we grow and mature to be all that we were designed to be.
As believers, we are accountable to come to the knowledge of  and obey the truth of the Holy Scriptures.

For though the Lord loves us, how can He draw close to that which is so against His nature?

Be ye Holy for He is Holy, the scriptures remind us.

Can a parent treat a disobedient child the same way he treats an obedient child?
He loves them both ... but wilful and persistent disobedience in a child creates a rift that blocks deep intimacy.

Imagine a loved one turning away from you.

How painful that would be and how it affects everything!

The role of the believer is to stay clean, becoming the spotless bride.
Remaining in Him, so that His eyes and Grace remain and abound upon us always 👑

Note: Jesus Is the Word. The entirety of the Word (Old & New covenant) are One and the same. Ears that hear and Eyes that see will recognize that He weaves through it all.
